Retailer Accounts
Retailer accounts are customer-facing storefronts — the final tier in the Blindstrader supply chain. Examples include Newblinds.
What a Retailer Can Do
| Capability | Description |
|---|---|
| Connect to Suppliers | Discover and connect with Suppliers to access their product catalogs |
| Adopt products | Select which Supplier products to sell and set retail pricing |
| Catalog overrides | Customise product names, descriptions, and images for your storefront |
| Process customer orders | Orders are automatically routed to the Supplier for fulfillment |
| Receive payment splits | Your retailer margin is automatically credited via Stripe Connect |
What a Retailer Cannot Do
Constraint
Retailers cannot create or manufacture their own products. They can only adopt and resell products from connected Suppliers.
This constraint keeps the supply chain clean and ensures all products have a traceable origin.
Tenant Isolation
Each Retailer organisation has a dedicated MySQL database named blindstrader_retailer_{slug}. The stancl/tenancy package manages the multi-tenancy layer for the Retailer service.
Verification Inheritance
When a Retailer adopts a product, the Brand verification status is inherited:
brand_verification_status | What end customers see |
|---|---|
fully | Blue-tick Brand badge |
partial | Partial verification indicator |
none | No badge |
This is computed automatically — Retailers don't need to manage verification manually.
