Catalog Import

Importing a Brand's catalog into your Supplier tenant is how you gain access to Brand-verified products and their components.

Prerequisites

  • Your Supplier account must be connected to the Brand (see Connections below).
  • The Brand must have granted you Import Access for the relevant product lines.

Import Flow

Brand grants permission
  └── Supplier requests catalog import
└── Brand Service federates query → Brand tenant DB
└── Data copied to Supplier tenant DB with Supplier pricing layer
└── Supplier products available for Retailer adoption

Performing an Import

  1. Go to Catalog → Import.
  2. Select the Brand from the list of connected Brands.
  3. Choose which product lines to import (based on the permissions the Brand has granted you).
  4. Configure the pricing strategy (see below).
  5. Click Import. The import runs asynchronously — you'll receive a notification when it completes.

Pricing Strategy

When importing Brand products, you define how your Supplier price is calculated:

StrategyDescription
Fixed markup (%)Your price = Brand trade price × (1 + markup%). E.g. 30% markup.
Fixed uplift (£)Your price = Brand trade price + fixed amount per unit.
ManualYou set each product's price manually after import.

Pricing is stored in your Supplier tenant database and is never visible to the Brand.

Keeping Imports Up to Date

When a Brand publishes a new catalog version, you receive a notification. To update your imported products:

  1. Go to Catalog → Import → Version Updates.
  2. Review the changelog for the new Brand catalog version.
  3. Click Adopt Version to sync. Any new fabrics or blind types are added; any changes to existing items are applied.

Breaking changes

If the new version contains breaking changes (e.g. a fabric SKU was renamed), a warning is shown. Review carefully before adopting — it may affect products you've already published to Retailers.

Brand Connections

To connect to a Brand:

  1. Go to Connections → Brands.
  2. Search for the Brand by name.
  3. Click Request Connection.
  4. The Brand is notified and must approve the request.

Once approved, you can proceed with the catalog import as described above.

Custom Products

You don't need a Brand connection to create products. Under Catalog → Products → New Product, you can create fully custom products:

  • Define your own fabrics, option sets, and pricing.
  • These products are marked is_brand_verified = false.
  • Retailers who adopt them will see brand_verification_status = none.

Hybrid Products

A hybrid product uses at least one Brand-verified component (e.g. fabric) combined with custom elements (e.g. a custom control mechanism). The verification status is computed as partial.
